First and foremost, King Leo should have won Best Actor. The man is an absolute force, and I'm seriously astounded that he's yet to be awarded with one of those lumps of shiny liquid man gold. He's been the face of the big screen since way back when he was playing the baby faced hunk in early roles, such as "Romeo & Juliet" (1996!), "Titanic" and "The Beach." So yes, that means Mr Dicaprio has been lighting up our screens for around 18 years! He's not even just a pretty face anymore, he's come of age and shown serious star quality in grittier performances, such as: The Departed, Shutter Island and quite recently, the Great Gatsby. He's hollywood royalty, and for me, if Leo is starring, he is my main focus. He has an aura about him that you don't see very often.
This isn't to say that Matthew McConnaughey wasn't deserving, because yes he has definitely come into his own since the days of "The Wedding Planner" and "How to lose a guy in 10 days." There is no denying he's a fantastic actor, I just feel like now should have been Leo's time and I think there are many a die hard Dicaprio fan that will agree.
Another mention from The Oscars has to be my new genuine girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence. From the second she stumbled onto the red carpet in front of the paparazzi and gave a really nervous/goofy grin before putting her celebrity star front on, I've jumped on the J-law bandwagon. She seems like one of the most down to earth actresses to come out of Hollywood in a long time and even laughed her way back to her feet after stumbling over in front of the worlds cameras in her beautiful red Dior gown. It's rare to find a woman that males and females love to love equally. Oh and she's an insanely good actress as well. Love you J-Law!
I couldn't believe it when I was looking over the photos from The Oscars and stumbled across a really familiar looking brunette... I couldn't put my finger on it until I read the caption and clocked that it was in fact Margot Robbie (Leo's wife in The Wolf Of Wall Street, yes the one who stripped naked and made every girl at the cinema with their boyfriend want to cover his eyes, in a flash of pure green jealousy and outrage.) The Aussie actress has dyed her hair dark for an upcoming film role in "Z for Zachariah." I can't believe how much a hair colour can change someones appearance, I don't think that her ill fitting black gown did many favours for that glorious figure of hers. This, in addition to her vampy hair and make up, meant that she looked the complete opposite to what we're used to. She is stunningly beautiful, and you've got to admire a girl who can commit to her craft so strongly, as many of us know just how much of a struggle she will have getting her locks back to blonde!
In conclusion to all things Oscars, I have to put this out there. I want to know if I am the only one in the world who thought that "Gravity" was a reeeeeeally terrible film. I mean, there is literally nothing to it. I could tell you the contents of the entire film in about 5 minutes. George Clooney had merely a cameo role as far as I'm concerned and Sandra was basically floating around on her own for most of the film. One I would definitely not have recommended, regardless of the special effects. If there's no plot, no storyline, then how can it get SEVEN bloody Oscars. I'm truly baffled by this. Truly.
Oh yeah and Kate Hudson was definitely my best dressed female of the night. B-E-A-utiful.
